Common questions about London DJ ACademy

Do you only offer 1-on-1 courses?

Yes we specialise in private, hands-on 1-on-1 sessions and mentorship tailored to your needs to help you achieve your goals. These take part in our London studio, in a relaxed and fun environment.

Do I need to have my own DJ Equipment or bring my own music?

No, our DJ School is fully equipped with the latest equipment – both Pioneer CDJs & Technics Vinyl decks. You are welcome to bring your own USB stick or vinyl for our vinyl course, but, we have an extended library of both digital and vinyl records, covering the major music styles and genres.

What music genres do you teach?

We teach all styles of dance music, the techniques and skills learnt can be applied to all different genres allowing you play to all crowds on the dancefloor.

Are there any age limits to enroll on DJ courses?

We teach all adults from the age of 18.. There are no upper age limits on our courses.

What equipment do I need to get started?

We teach our courses on the latest industry standard DJ equipment and software found in clubs and bars and used by professional DJs worldwide, so you will be ready for any situation in playing out. Brands include Alpha Theta, Pioneer, Allen & Heath, Technics, Recordbox, Serato Pro DJ, and Tractor.

Do I need experience to join?

Our courses cater for all levels from beginners right the way up to advanced levels. We will teach you everything you need to know throughout our courses to start your career. We can assess your ability to chose the right course for you and allow to progress, at the right pace to achieve your ambitions.

Are the classes online, in-person, or both?

We focus on 1-1 tuition in person. We believe this gives you the required level of attention to learn at the fastest pace in a fun environment.

What software do you teach?

We teach Logic Pro and Ableton industry standard software.

How long do the programs last?

Lessons are taught in a 7 hour day session or can be arranged around your schedule.

Is studio access available after class?

We encourage our students to have practice time so they can consolidate their knowledge from lessons.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Upon completion, you’ll receive an official London DJ Academy certificate for your course or program.

Do you help with releasing my music?

Our programs are beginner-friendly and designed to help you build skills from the ground up. Upon completion of advanced courses we can assist by offering studio time to prepare your track for release.

Are there opportunities to perform live?

Yes. We believe live performance is essential in increasing your confidence and DJ skill level. We offer live DJ mix events where former DJ graduates can go back-to-back in a livestream, in a supportive environment with constructive feedback from instructors.

Do you accept international students?

Absolutely. We welcome students to use our fully equipped media studios to perform their own livestreams and podcasts.
